Project - ManiGreen

On Sunday, October 12, in the Mole Adriana Park at Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome, ManiGreen opened to the public at 10:00 AM: an open-air exhibition unlike any other, on display until November 2, 2025.

Promoted by the non-profit organisation 2050 To People, this initiative is much more than an art event, it is a living manifesto created with the community to promote the art of caring for the future.

For the first time, an artistic-educational project of this scale was realised in Rome and in Italy, and has received extraordinary recognition: the patronage of the European Commission, the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, and the Department for Agriculture, Environment, and Waste Cycle, Roma Capitale and the Dicastery for Culture and Education of the Holy See. This institutional support underscored the project’s deep resonance with the themes of the Jubilee of the Educational World, one of the key events of the Holy Year 2025.

The key word of ManiGreen is participation, but also inclusion and intergenerationality. The project stems from the belief that art, acknowledged as an expression deeply rooted in the community and capable of forging connections across generations, represents a force for change and a powerful tool to promote a culture of awareness, inclusion, and sustainability.

The curated open-air exhibition featured installations of thematic drawings created by over 1200 children from Rome’s primary schools, the Peter Pan ODV association, and local day centers.

The installations were adorned with textile inserts, lovingly knitted and crocheted by elderly members of local associations, the “Uncinettine” of the Atessa XXI Secolo Association and residents of the Abruzzese retirement home “R.P. Francesco e Lorenzo.” A dialogue between generations that celebrates the art of caring for the world around us.

To inaugurate the exhibition and a full day of participatory workshops, inclusive STEM and sustainable mobility labs, and open-air art installations were held – all free of charge – ManiGreen began with the Terzo Paradiso by artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, candidate for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize. The Maestro’s Third Paradise installation was created live on Sunday, October 12th, using over one ton of recycled clothing. The public was invited to take part in this collective action by bringing used garments and contributing directly to the installation. At the end of the day, all of the clothing were recycled thanks to UNIRAU (Union of Enterprises for the Collection, Reuse and Recycling of Used Clothing), a member of AssoAmbiente, which will ensure the garments are given a new life.

ManiGreen - Press Conference

On Tuesday, September 23 at 12:00 PM, the press conference presenting ManiGreen took place at Palazzo Taverna, in the presence of artist Michelangelo Pistoletto. ManiGreen is an open-air art exhibition that will be held in Rome, at Parco della Mole Adriana – Castel Sant’Angleo, from October 12 to November 2, promoted by the non-profit organisation 2050 To People during the Jubilee of the Educational World for the Holy Year 2025.

At the symbolic heart of ManiGreen is the Third Paradise by Maestro Pistoletto, nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

The Third Paradise is a monumental installation created in collaboration with Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto. The installation, made entirely from recycled clothing, will transform the gardens of the Mole Adriana into a space of reflection and renewal.

The open-air exhibition will feature additional works created by more than 1,200 young artists, along with conferences, STEM labs and workshops aimed at redefining the concept of sustainability and raising awareness about the care of our planet.

Joining the artist at the press conference were, among others, Erica Zmitrovitch, creator of the project. Also participating were Giulia Silvia Ghia, Councillor for Culture, Education, Sports, and Youth Policies of Municipality I of Rome; Francesco Bedeschi, Resident Director of the University of Arkansas Rome Program; Saverio Teruzzi from the Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte Onlus and Chiara Frontini from Libelà APS.

Project - WFF Culture Corner 🇺🇳

2050 To People is honored to have been selected to participate in the WFF (World Food Forum) Culture Corner October 14-18, 2024. Projects were submitted in an open call from around the world for this annual flagship event at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy.

Through art, music, and dance, the “Land Art Soil Mandala” short film celebrates our connection to the Earth and echoes the guiding theme of the 2024 WFF flagship event: “Good Food for All, for Today and Tomorrow.”

“The Land Art Soil Mandala” was created on the grounds of the stunning Villa Asquer di Assemini, situated just outside of Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, Italy.

The project includes a collaboration with international and local Sardinian artists, including a youth quintet from the Giovanni Pierluigi di Palestrina Conservatory of Music in Cagliari and dancers from the Movimento Poetico academy, all of whom bring the mandala to life through music, dance, and visual artistry.

This project aligns with 2050 To People’s commitment to foster sustainable practices and inclusion, inspire youth engagement, and nurture behavioral change through education and shared experiences.

Special thanks to all those who brought this incredible project to life.
